Cooking Workshop: Valarie’s Signature Dishes – Class #1

Cook alongside Valarie in her kitchen preparing some of her most requested dishes and time-tested recipes in this hands-on workshop. These dishes show up at so many of our special occasions and gatherings. They are all unique to Valarie’s cooking style of elevating each dish through the use of special ingredients, spices and cooking techniques. This workshop will allow you to walk away with the skills to prepare them for your friends and family at your next gathering.

Five-Mushroom Medley Soup – The texture of this soup is smooth as silk. The flavors of the oyster, cremini, bella, shitake and porcini mushrooms create an umami flavor bomb of taste in every spoonful. This soup is comfort food that can be served any time of year.

Jerk Corn (aka “Crack Corn”) – This corn is so addictive. Think of it as a cross between Mexican street corn with Island flavors of jerk and barbeque seasoning. One bite and you are hooked.

Mushroom Crostini’s – Crisp baguettes topped with a French onion dip with a medley of sautéed mushrooms.

Beef Bourguignon – Beef bourguignon is a traditional French stew prepared with braised beef, red wine, vegetables and seasoning. It is found throughout the households of France and in many Parisian bistros. Discover the unique flavor profile, beautiful aromatics and the unmistakable taste.

Chicken Marsala – Not your ordinary chicken marsala. This chicken marsala is elevated by incorporating Italian cured prosciutto into the recipe. The fat of the prosciutto renders down into a lovely savory flavor profile cooked to perfection in a crock pot and served over her signature mashed potatoes and/or parpadelle pasta.

Madagascar Vanilla Creme Cheese-filled Strawberries – Beautifully grown strawberries filled with a Madagascar vanilla-infused cream cheese filling. The flavor profile in this simple hand held dessert make it difficult to only eat one.
